Performance for the XV10 series Empty Performance for the XV10 series

So you want more power out of your 2.2L "5sfe" or 3.0L "3vz-fe/1mz-fe" well first you have to start with the basics... Can't make power the dumb way, so do it smart.

For starters a simple overhaul overall like:

-Replacing the oil and oil filter with fresh synthetics on  a regular basis and keeping tabs on fluid levels
-Replace or clean the air filter " if reusable"
-Replace the pcv and groument, This is usually overlooked.
_Replace the fuel filter, and when giving the chance, have your injectors cleaned and rebulit.
    -Replace word belts and hoses
-Replace the spark plugs with higher grade plugs; gapped correctly, new ignition wires, ignition cap and rotor.
-A valve lash adjustment and timing redone. Does wonders..
-Make sure the o2 sensor/s are working correctly and replace when needed
-Flush the cooling system, replace the thermostat, radiator cap, and fix any bent fins in the radiator.
-Check if any gasket or seals my need replacing, especially oil bound seals/gaskets.
-Transmission wise, if you have a rebuilt/well kept transmission change out the fluid/gear oil. But if not drain 1/4th of the fluid and add additives/new fluid to keep it healty.
-change the transmission filter "automatic trans"
-Replace worn out clutch/throw out bearing/ and flywheel if not wanting to resurface it.
    -Replace any lines if needed

Now after all of that then your ready for the next step, the grail of modifications... I/H/E!

what is I/H/E? it's intake, header, exhaust.

-For intakes, you have a few options.. Simple one is drop in filters. Some people just don't want to go to the hassle of installing a aftermarket intake system or just dont wanna have the look of one but still want some grunt. That's where High flow drop in filters come in play, options like Trd for the v6, K&N #33-2052, Spectre #'s 887351-HPR7351 "for 2.2L and 3.0L". Either one works great and reuseable, gives better response, lil power, and a better tone to the motor.

-Next is SRI; short ram intake systems. basicly its a aluminum tube that replaces the stock rubber/plastic hose, and add a pod filter. Theres expensive systems and simple ebay one, both do the same job with the same number gains pretty much.recommended to make or buy a simple heat sheild off of ebay, keep unwanted air from the filter. Expected gains 1-5whp

-CAI, Cold air intake systems. Iceman use to make a system but don't anymore.. You'll have to go custom route.

    Here's a link:

-Other Intakes: 92-95 Honda civic/Integras intakes work, yes i said Honda intakes... Honda used a map and iacv just like our 2.2l. so you have all the correct inlets needed. My personal cars have ran Password JDM Whale intake system, And Simota Carbon Whale intake systems.. They look and sound great and have decent gains over normal systems. Expected gains are in the range of 2-12whp.. Believe it or not...

    Now for Header/s.

-For the 2.2L "5sfe" you have a couple of options; OBX  and Ebay "which is basicly the same thing". OBX header made for the 93-99 celica and 4th gen camry work on our cars, you'll have to modify the exhaust a bit though but that should be already in the plans anyway. Ebays 2.2L celica header are cheaperthan obx's, but just make sure the welds are right on them, dont wanna have any problems further down the line.

-For the v6 guys OBX, Is the route... but only for the 1mz-fe guys. more info may be needed to confirm this.. But gains from either on are around 3-10whp mark.

    Exhaust:
-Simply put, depends on your goals and perefence. This is a custom route so price and style varies.. For N/A, 2"-2.5" should be the biggest you want ranging from simple mods to mild builds to high rev monsters. Our car are Low-End power Engines, so to keep the low-end good and have noticable gains for DD 2"-2.24" is the way to go, paired with a larger cat 92-96"OBD1" and a high flow muffler will net gains around 5-15whp gains, with built motors 2.5" is the way to go; depending on how you ported/polished your head, run hi compression bottom end or low boost turbo, you'll be around the area of 5-20+ whp..3' on a N/A is complete over kill and will hurt power and mpg...3" is turbo route.

I'll add more down the line. Any questions or infomation wanna ad, feel free to say or ask
